In a word, no. When you buy EasyRecipe Plus, you get 12 months free updates and support included in the purchase price.

At the end of 12 months, we'll give you the opportunity to renew your license at a 50% discount.

Is renewal compulsory?

No, you can choose to renew or not. However if you choose not to renew, you will no longer receive new versions of the plugin and we can't guarantee the level of support we'll be able to provide.

What happens if I don't renew?

Nothing much - for now. The copy of EasyRecipe you have will continue to work just fine with the version of WordPress you have right now. However we can't guarantee that it will work with future versions of WordPress or updates of your theme and other plugins. You won't get updates with new features or bug fixes either. We also can't give you any guarantee that we'll be able to answer your support questions quickly.

Why do you charge for something I already bought?

Basically because you haven't actually paid for the new work we do on EasyRecipe. Writing updates and supporting our plugins is our full time job and we need to eat and pay the bills. We're not asking you to pay for the plugin again, but we do ask that you pay for new stuff we do and access to Joe, the support guy we employ. With tens of thousands of users, our support alone is quite literally an ongoing full time job for one person and as hard as we've tried to convince him to work for free, Joe won't have a bar of it.  If we don't recoup that cost, we won't be able to continue developing and supporting the plugin.  And we'd be poor. And not at all happy.
